Not sure if I should go after this. No ferrules, cheap tailpiece, and nasty frets suggest that seller isn’t kidding about this being a basic model. But the top and back are crazy hot. Is this shit or the shit?

Regals was Montg0mery Wards' house brand for music instruments (kind of like Silvertone was for Sears-Roebuck). A lot of them were made in the 20s & 30s by Gibson (Gibson, like Martin, did a lot of batch runs [making guitars with a customers own brand name on them] during the Great Depression, to keep the company going). Regals from the Pre-war era are actually pretty decent guitars IMO - just bit lower on the the bling scale, than their Gibson, Epiphone, and Martin counterparts. Production stopped in 1940. The Regal name was revived in the 50s & 60s, with most of them being made by Harmony or Kay (both manufacterers also made guitars under the Silvertone name).
