Regals was Montg0mery Wards' house brand for music instruments (kind of like Silvertone was for Sears-Roebuck). A lot of them were made in the 20s & 30s by Gibson (Gibson, like Martin, did a lot of batch runs [making guitars with a customers own brand name on them] during the Great Depression, to keep the company going). Regals from the Pre-war era are actually pretty decent guitars IMO - just bit lower on the the bling scale, than their Gibson, Epiphone, and Martin counterparts. Production stopped in 1940. The Regal name was revived in the 50s & 60s, with most of them being made by Harmony or Kay (both manufacterers also made guitars under the Silvertone name).
