How did I get here?
Yes, I actually went and did it:

A 2015 (! ) Gibson Les Paul Junior.

The mahagony is a gorgeous, I believe one-piece slab.

The pickup is a fabulous dogear P90ST.

Yes, the fretboard is wider, without widening the string spacing.

Yes, the neck is a bit on the thin side.

Yes, it has the ghastly Les Paul 100 gold marker.

Yes, it has the Tronical-made GForce tuning system.

Now, before, those were obstacles; however, I got used to the important one - the neck - very quickly.

Sounds absolutely fantastic. Plays like the proverbial butter. Action is low and buzz-free. The volume and tone controls actually work well. The zero-fret adjustable nut does not make the strings bind. The GForce tuning system DOES work, especially when it has a charge .

Congrats; it looks beautiful, and you are happy. That's all that counts.

I did my own 180 about acoustic electric guitars with cutaways a couple of years ago. I don't mind eating crow as long as I'm happy.

I have to tell you, for UNDER $700 new with case (after the 15% discount) before tax, this thing is a steal. If I would have had more cash, I would have spung for the two-pickup, doublecut Special instead.

Frankly, I'm looking forward to the late-year blowouts; however, against (un)popular opinion, the 2015 line seems to be doing well (at least on the lower end). Mine was dated March 24th, so a month out of the factory.

They go for $899 regularly, and frankly, that's a pretty good price. GC had it marked at $799, and at 15% off it makes $680 plus tax. I traded in a cheap pedal to get the discount.

Yeah, I could have gotten the LPJ for about $100 less, but this was just so gorgeous, and more bang-for-buck, I had to jump.

Still have a $81 store credit too...maybe one of those used Pacificas for $99 that Bob posted earlier...
