AMS dent and scratch question

I ordered a scratch-n-dent Steinberger Synapse Trans-scale from MF, came with a missing string-holder nut on one string (to be able to use regular strings instead of double-ball) and the piezo pickup wasn't working. Back it went...

My only experience with ordering a scratch n' dent so far.
 
Plugged the Ovation into an amp and electronics seem to work. No idea of quality of sound through an old squire sp 10 amp with that little bitty speaker.
But it makes sound and turns up and down.
