Amp score! Or waste of time?

I can pick up this mint condition Crate RFX 200S for $175.

From what I've read, it's either a fantastic amp, or a raging piece of shit.

Anyone have any helpful info?

Near as I can tell, that's about the going rate used for those.

Are you looking for an amp or just looking for a deal you can flip?

Edit: there's one for $130 obo on ebay right now but it's local pickup in STL
 
No experience. I don't recognize it as one of the Crate amps that literally, thousands of people rave about. Price for the "good" ones can be lower than $175.
 
Hmmm. Reviews are limited. It's a fairly rare amp. It's in mint condition. I played a strat through it and it actually sounded pretty good on the clean channel. From what I've gathered, it will stay clean at outrageous volumes. If it takes pedals well, it could be a great back up amp for the JC. The price seems like a steal to me for a 3 channel amp with that much oomph. I would likely never use the drive channels, but who knows? It could happen I suppose. As much as I love my JC 77, I keep having to maintain it (it's old). Seems like a good back up is a no brainer. My JC 55 is just a touch underpowered, and my 120s are never getting gigged again unless I find myself playing a stadium show.

I'm seriously thinking of grabbing this.
