Took my full rock band rig to the blues jam yesterday because I had it at home and the organizers at this particular jam let me do whatever I want (especially on days like yesterday where there was barely anyone on the signup sheet). I usually bring my Deluxe reverb and an Xotic RC Booster to the jam and I get most of what I want from that. This rig was NOT what I wanted to play a set of blues and a second set of what ended up being classic rock covers....I do the classic rock stuff with it normally but with the instrumentation on stage I think I would have been happier with the Deluxe.

What's nice is being able to choose an amp based on it's appropriateness for the situation...

But I am surprised you couldn't get a passable Blues tone out of that rig...

so next stop is Hiwatt stack, right?

Of course. Maybe a wall of Laneys.

Yep.

It doesn't sound bad but its a different animal from the Deluxe...more of a Marshal "rock" aesthetic. And I did use it for about half of the guitars on my album. Just not what I'm looking for in that situation.
