Absolutely brilliant cover and performance.

I had to check out the original (Billy Holiday?) first. Covers usually sound strongest when the covering artist makes it their own- not just trying to parrot it. I like how he takes the first 4 notes of the original trumpet melody, & harmonizes it his own way, forming the intro to the song. I noticed that he chose to flam those rhythmic accents with hands & feet, not have them directly lining up as most people would attempt to achieve-whether this was on purpose or not, I'm not sure. It added some metric flexibility to the sound of the looping rhythmic background-maybe keeping it from sounding too stiff?

In the original, right towards the end, BH ever so slightly bends the V note flat, then back on pitch again. I loved that sound.

I got about 2 & a half minutes into the cover before I realized that his arrangement did not need anything else.
