Ham Carbonara tonite. Flavor is GREAT, but the pasta is still too al dente; wish I had used penne or something else.
 
That looks delicious.
As long as it doesn't snap when you bend it, it's not too al dente.

This wouldn't snap, but it would barely bend.

It was delicious. I know I should work on my plating when I'm home, but by the time I get it cooked and bring it to the table, I'm starving.
 
I like to make my own pasta and a side benefit is that it's never too al danete. If anything it's too easy to over cook.

I'm going to start making my own soon; we have a Kitchenaid w/pasta attachments on our wedding registry and it looks like someone has purchased it. :love:
