I would not have done this trade. Their starting pitching is already well above average, why trade one of the most exciting young players in your organazation for an over-hyped lefty?

Jake, it's about Wins Above Replacement. Lester is a 3 War pitcher at this point in the season. Cespedes is a 2 WAR hitter. One win at this point in the season is huge. Also, pitching always trumps hitting. Especially in the postseason. Which is where Billy Beane's head is right now. Remember, his shit doesn't work in the postseason. So he's gotta change it up.
