That's not exclusive to Chicago. It's available in the northeast.

As for tamales in a bun, I've never tried it. I usually buy my tamales from The Tamale Guy who comes to dive bars late at night. You can't beat six homemade tamales for $5.

This thread got to me. I stopped at Al's on Taylor for a beef after I saw The Screaming Females play this afternoon.

Yeah, I haven't needed to go anywhere to buy tamales in a while. There's a lady that goes door to door on my block, a cart across kimball on Belmont and if I'm at the bar, you can bet the tamale guy's gonna show up sometime.
