Nice guitar. I have a love/hate thing with those little Ricks. Love to look at them/ hate to play them. This one is not actually a 325. It is an export model built for Rose-Morris in England known as a Model 1996 (has nothing to do with the year). This one is what's called a 1 o'clock "F" hole. Based on the angle of the hole. There was also one with an F hole with more of an angle known as a 2 o' clock. Do not play surf music with that Kaufman. Do not touch it. Don't even think about touching it unless you want to tune it right after.

John Lennon did not play a prototype. His was a production guitar. It was also a 325 not a 1996. Rickenbacker did at one point give him a 1996 12 string. Ringo owns it now.

Played a 1967 version of the same guitar at Wildwood and they only wanted $5000 for it.

I like Rics, but I've always been kind of iffy about the short scale Rics. Those of you who complain about Jaguars being "short scale (they really aren't - they're medium scale guitars), have no reason the complain about them. Jags have a 24" scale length. Ric 320s, 325s, and 1996s have a 21.5" scale neck! I played a 325 once. It felt like I was playing a mandolin!

As it is Rics are an even bigger hassle to re-fret, than Fenders with maple finger boards, due to the fact that they have even more clear finish on the fingerboard, than Fender maple fingerboard necks have! The only Rics I would even consider getting nowadays, are the walnut ones due to them have little to no finish on their maple fingerboards.

I've always associated the f-hole Rics with Pete Townshend, though I'm guessing it's a different model from the one pictured.

Still a cool guitar.
