1945: My dad's first car. What is it?

My sister sent me this picture the other day. I've never seen it before, but apparently it was taken on the day my dad got his first car. He died just after my first birthday, so all I have are pictures and stories. This was a bittersweet new find for me. I have no idea what this beasty is, but it sure is ugly

Anyone know what it is?

Looks like a 41 Business Coupe to me,

41 fore sure. 42 had the electric razor front grill and 40 lacked the front grill side vents. 41 ford businessman's coupe.

It's pretty awesome how quickly you guys identified that car. Mad props to you. My sister and my cousin were both really happy to learn what it was.

Every once in a while, another old pic of my dad pops up like this and it's always cool to see him in a different light. I'll have to dig up the picture of him playing in the massive orchestra. It's pretty sweet. Dad was a rock star too.
