You may not appreciate the playing, but when you see it in action the required technique becomes apparent. If you think the neck positioning makes it difficult to play, that's user error.

I'd take a set of Zakk Wylde EMG's apart and make covers so they fit and would play wicked heavy guitar with it. Damn.

Nope. There are dozens of chords I use at every gig that requires fretting the bass note with the thumb wrapped around. Playing it with fingertips sounds too "polite" and not funky enough.

Plus, there's no "right" way to position your hand on the neck. Period. I use plenty of chords where I do the same thing. Thumb the bass note.

And that guitar is hideous.
