The Dew Man is right again

Numero Uno as far as I'm concerned.

Check out the early version of a sweep arpeggio near the beginning of the solo

All the eras of Rainbow (Dio, Graham Bonnet, Joe Lynn Turner) are great. Watching these videos has gotten me fired up to go out and shovel snow!

I spent hours and hours and hours trying to learn the solo in this:

it's perfect Blackmore... melodic, flash and with some unexpected twists and turns.

I learned the riff to that song yesterday, for some reason I never learned it even though I love the song.

I quite liked this as well..from the last Rainbow album with Doogie White on vocals...just great guitar playing from Ritchie, the sweep arpeggio stuff at the end is just so tasteful ...unlike many people who use that technique.

Really, Blackmore is the reason I fell in love with Stratocasters. When I was about 15/16, I just wanted to be him. Still working on it

And, this is my 999th post.

I had an epiphany back in 1990, I said to myself "a lot of my favorite guitar players like Blackmore, Jeff Beck, Hendrix, Rory Gallagher, SRV etc play strats. Why don't I have one?"

So I bought a Strat, I think I'm going to play my Strat now.

Here's one more, this is probably my favorite Rainbow song, even though it started out as a Deep Purple song. Blackmore was always killing it on this one:

I love that version of "Mistreated"..just beautiful guitar. This is one of my favourites from the Joe Lynn Turner era...a pretty straight ahead melodic rock song, very catchy and with a very well phrased guitar solo..all that staccato picking stuff Ritchie does sounds so cool and it's a very evocative solo imo:

Mark, could we have a Ritchie Blackmore sub-forum?

I want that blonde Strat. I want it so bad, I'm getting the Edwards Blackmore model. That's right!
