    Default Google's Bacon number calculator

Has anyone else checked out Google's Bacon number calculator feature? You can calculate the degrees of separation between Kevin Bacon and any other actor by googling "Bacon number name of other actor."

So far I've not been able to come up with anything higher than 3.

For my own personal 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon, I can do it in two moves.

When I was ten, I was in a movie with Valerie Bertinelli, Shelly Long, Jameson Parker and Craig T. Nelson...

Shelly long was in "the money pit" with Tom Hanks...

Tom Hanks was in "Apollo 13" with...

    Kevin Bacon.

I like to do my own version of this game, but I replace KB with Jamie Farr... 6 degrees of Jamie Farr.

and without googling it, I can usually link just about anybody in 6 or less.

    try me.

I tried running some silent film actors through the google bacon calculator, and quite often it came up empty or wrong. There's probably some high Bacon numbers among them, but you'll have to figure it out the old-fashioned way.

Lon Chaney, Sr.'s Bacon number is 3
Lon Chaney, Sr. and Kenneth Branagh appeared in The Unknown.
Kenneth Branagh and January Jones appeared in The Boat That Rocked.
January Jones and Kevin Bacon appeared in X-Men: First Class.
No way no how was Kenneth Brannagh in a movie with Lon Chaney Sr.

Joe Pesci in a zillion movies with Robert DeNiro, but we'll go with Casino

DeNiro back to Eddie Murphy in Showtime

Alan Alda back to Jamie Farr in M*A*S*H*

If you're doing that all from memory, that's impressive....and a little scary.
