Black Pride + White Power = Lulz

My kid's choir took a trip to Branson, MO last weekend to perform in a competition and see some shows. As he and his buddy Forrest were walking through the park, they spotted a guy with "white power" tattoos on his arms.
They felt like having a little fun at his expense. Forrest says "I'm gonna go up and walk beside the guy, you take our picture."
My kid did so, and Forrest just kept on wlking beside the guy.
For a long time.

The guy finally stopped and asked him what he was doing.
You gotta know Forrest...the kid is a consumate performer.
His reply: "Oh, sorry, I didn't look. I thought you were my boyfriend."

It's a sad story that dickheads like this still walk the earth, but I'm very glad that Forrest can have a sense of humor about it. He's such a great kid...I can't imagine anyone not liking him for who he is.
I laughed about it, then cried a little.

I've been to Branson a couple of times. Beautiful area, but I think average age of the vacationers we saw there had to be in the early 70s.....

The thing is that most of the white power dudes always say "there's nothing wrong with having pride in your race" which is true, but all of the people who hate people of colour hide their 'groups' behind that 'mantra' so it makes that statement less credible for anyone who actually believes that and has no hidden agenda.

For me, I don't divert any energy to 'pride in my race'. I think it is horrific that we don't just all value the human race but it seems like the people who really care are greatly outnumbered. Fortunately, most of the people who value humanity over heritage are much more intelligent than the others.

Oh...and that line the young man used on the white power dude was seriously funny and damn sharp of wit.
