gah.
I would love to see it in a different finish. That red sparkle isn't doing it for me. Other than that, I dig it.
Do Like: Finish, maple fretboard, P90s, Bigsby
Do Not Like: 12th fret inlay only, cream-coloured P90s, strap pin location
"Three bars of 'A Day In The Life' still sustain me, rejuvenate me, inflame my senses and sensibilities. They are the best songwriters since Gershwin."
-Leonard Bernstein
"They say that I have no hits and that I'm difficult to work with... and they say that like it's a bad thing." - Tom Waits
FS: Apogee Duet (ver. 1) w/ duet:BREAKOUT box. All boxes, manuals, and cables included. $350 + shipping. Pics are here.
Looks like an electric version of a Tacoma Pappose w/ a bigsby & 70s motorcycle helmet sparkle paint job.
Pass
I like P-90s, the body shape, and the maple board.
Everything else makes we want to beat it about the face and neck.![]()

For the guitar - Ewwwwwww......
For the thread - Thanks for doing it EG.

Jack is my friend!
I've been having fun with it.
Realized pretty quickly that the main ones who chime in are the ones that don't like the guitar, so there's far more negative comments than positive.
Up to now, I've been trying to do out of the ordinary stuff. Everybody knows what a strat looks like.
Oddly enough, the Godin Icon from the other day was almost universally well received.
Maybe beacuse it looks like a Les Paul.
EG
I hate it one second and think it's got possibilities the next second. The red sparkle has got to go though.....

Yet another friend of Jack...
like the shape, love the finish.
add some skull inlays, make the headstock match the body.
lose the Bigsby, it looks out of place there, too big for the body.
and no f-holes on this, thanks.
so, it's almost there, for me.
but not quite.
that said, if someone offered it, I'd still take it.
glad to see you taking my point of view on the GPOTD. i'm all about the oddball stuff.
i think the Godins have been well received (i posted them too) because they're well made at a decent price and aren't hiding the stylistic influence. it's a tele-paul with flexible electronics. what's not to like?
know a fella what has that tattooed on his back.
But does he play a Godin?
EG
actually, yes, he does.
wow...that's pretty weird.
Well, there ya go.
EG
I'm not kidding, either.
well, I don't know that he still plays one, but he did have one back when I knew him.
in fact, I think it was the first time I'd seen a Godin.
Nah, my first reaction, plus one gah and a couple of yucks.
Please consider that Goya Guitars are my reference points for outlandish and garish guitar making.
For example, the "red metalflake" here is a mild, tasteful metalflake, compared to Goya.
The singular "f-hole", its position... makes no acoustic design sense at all, other than just being there.

o-boya
oogie-boogie
This might make a nice boogie woogie guitar.
Worth a shot.
EG
that's my hope.
I don't like people looking at me.
I wish I could say that. I get into trouble in Value Village change rooms.
Actually, I just made that shit up.
Sounds good, though, doesn't it?
EG
luddites fear vampires.
vampires sparkle.
I see the connection.
