I'm not sure any more about Citizen Kane being a classic movie.
It's black and white, missing a few colors, even missing Canadian colours.
No, it's not a great movie any more. I think Waterworld is deeper.
I just might be the only person besides the teacher who knows what Rosebud is.
Also, Fucking brilliant movie.

Totally awesome trivia fact: Citizen Kane contains more special effects shots than the original '77 Star Wars.
I'm a big Welles fan. It might be something of a genetic thing; one of my favorite cousins is a Toronto chef, his restaurants are called Rosebud and The Citizen.

Citizen Kane deserves every single accolade it has ever received, and then some.

I've never seen it. GUess I better change that.
I have never seen it either.....
Yet another friend of Jack...
You should totally ruin it for the whole class by pointing out that nobody else was in the room when he uttered his last word.
It's probably my favorite film, and has been since MY film class, which was about 124 years ago. Or at least it seems that long.

well...
I didn't care for it at all.
I thought it was vastly over-rated, and boring as all fuck.
but, there ya go
(I do still own in on vhs though)
the old 80's cartoon?
yep.
those Michael Bay abortions?
nope.
*vomits a little*
yeahhh..not a big fan of those.
Human Centipede, on the other hand...![]()
it's...different.
I like it, but it's pretty awful
and awesome at the same time.
The cool/strange/paradoxical thing is that you could make a very convincing argument that Kane is not Welles's best movie, neither as filmmaker nor as actor.
And yet, yeah, it is totally deserving of its "greatest film of all-time" reputation, and the other ones wouldn't be.
I absolutely refuse to watch The Human Centipede. Won't do it. There's a line somewhere, and for me, that crossed it.

Arguably the most innovative film ever made (w/r/t narrative, design, cinematography, sound, special-effects, make-up, etc.), arguably the most influential film ever made (consider simply the visual influence of Kane on everything from film noir to comic books), and overwhelming critical consensus.
My personal favorites are Chinatown, Miller's Crossing, and The Third Man.
Unless you're talking about "it's a rainy day, I've got a head cold and a runny nose, I'm cranky, I want to lie on the couch, wrap myself in a blanket, eat popsicles, and watch a movie that I know is bound to cheer me up" kind of movie, in which case I'd probably go with something more like Singin' in the Rain, Groundhog Day, A Fish Called Wanda, The Bandwagon, Rushmore, etc.
See, I can't do it for you because you chose good movies. I was expecting Peeker to go with The Rocky Horror Picture Show,
My personal favorites are Apocalypse Now, The Iron Giant*, and Blade Runner.
*Why yes, I did just list an animated kids(?) movie as one of the greatest of all time. Suck it.

I enjoy some of those quirky british movies too, "Waking Ned Divine" and "Saving Grace" are examples.
