A better name would help too... biggrin
I'll listen sometime tonight...
This is a song I started working on for last year's songwriting contest and I never finished it, and kind of lost interest in it.
It's pretty boring, but I thought it might make for a decent backing track. Maybe with some blistering leads over it, it'll be more interesting.

Yet another friend of Jack...
I like it.
I think I'll give it a go.
AOK
Me too.
I'll try to get something recorded tonight.
Being too lazy to check - what key is that in? The first part would sound nice with some tin whistle over it....
Yet another friend of Jack...
Tin whistle, yes. But then not a blistering solo, but a smooth and joyful on a semi-hollow with chorus.
If I'm thinking correctly, it's in D.
It's been a while since I played it, but I'm thinking the chords are D, C, G, and A.
Oh, and I forgot to have a go at it last night. Maybe over the weekend.
I had a few shots at it last night. I really felt like it was calling for some nice slide work... but I kinda suck at slide - Ill keep at tho.
I like at the very end you hear the guitar getting unplugged from the amp, nice touch AOK
Good - I have a 'D' whistle (and C, Eb, and B I think). Actually, I have three 'D' whistles. I may give this a shot tonight if I can manage some quiet in the house...Originally Posted by Prages

AOK Very nicely done !
Nice, I hear a progression that kind of sounds like Yesterdays from GNR in there.
Thanks again for the OHM help for the homemade cabinet.
Thanks SL

It kinda just happened that way... I quickly realized I didn't have many ideas against a Major key. So then I figured I would try to harmonize something. Well that forced me to play something that I could repeat.... and that's what it ended up being. I didn't harmonize everything just a few notes here and there. I pretty happy with those parts, I think I could do better on the slide section.Originally Posted by markwein

I've got one done, but I can't seem to get it past 35% uploaded.
I'll try one more time, and if it doesn't work the last time, I'll upload it in the morning.
Strike 3.
I'll upload it in the morning.
It's nothing special though.
Okay, here's mine. I'll get the others listened to this evening.

No, that's the Classic 30.Originally Posted by RonK
It's been about a year since I recorded the acoustic track, but I'd say I probably used my old Fender Catalina mic'd with a pair of MXL 993 small diaphram condensor.
I really thought those mics sounded great, but one of them developed a really nasty hum after a few months of use. I've since read several reviews that mentioned a bad hum developing over time. I'd advise any potential buyers to steer clear of them.
This is the guitar, believe it or not.

One thing is that I used GTR Solo for my amp models on this and they are giving away one year free licenses...check it out at http://www.wavesgtr.com/html/product_gtr_solo.html
I actually am digging it quite a bit...so far its the best modeling software I've tried on my mac and you can use it either as a plug in or by itself....

Hey! I used this backing track to practice last night, thanks for posting it!
I want to give this a try later, I like the track, didn't have time to do much with it today, but want to try to come up with something later.
Played along with it a little more this weekend, and definitely am going to attempt to see what I can do with it, but might still be a while before I get it done.
I gave this a shot this afternoon. Was having one of those days (like most, it seems) when I was really frustrated with everything I played, and even more so with anything I tried to record. So I gave up & went & worked in the yard for a while, came back in and figured I'd give this a try before I gave up completely for the day.
I'm not too impressed with it either, but it sounded a little better than I expected. Seems pretty limited on ideas, and the end kind of crept up on me before I expected it.
I'm hoping to do a better version of it later on, but at least I can say I did a little bit of something constructive today, instead of wasting the whole afternoon and coming up with nothing.

I had a listen last night - I thought it sounded good man.
That sounds good Jay. It makes me realize how close this backing track is to 'Can't You See'.
Really nice. There are some great phrases in there.
Thanks, guys. I was thinking today, I'm getting better at avoiding the wrong notes, just need to come up with more interesting ways to play the right ones! There were a few phrases in there I liked, but would like to have varied it more, instead of pretty much the same kinds of ideas all the way through. It was fun, though.
Still might play with it some more later, and see what I can come up with.
i like it, i even wrote lyrics while I was listening to it play.
It turned into a song in my head and I have to let my peoples go..
The BPM is a little off with the melody I am hearing but all in all, it worked on paper, as I was listening along.
Kind of reminds me melodically of parts of "melissa" by Allmans.
