Chewie Quick test vid of the new cam up :)

YouTube did mangle the sound on it quite a bit, as expected, but a nice demo of what it's capable of nonetheless.

An old JT tune very sloppily played and no singing at this point.
Then again the performance was not the issue this time.

Looking forward to trying the cam on louder sources (drums, band gigs/rehearsals and so on). Did VERY nice on the acoustic imo.

That's the Zoom? I want one... How much record time do you get from it?
I may or may not have completely misinterpreted my misconceptions as perceptions of misconstrued disinformation...

    Yep

With audio set to 16 bit/44.1 kHz you get 46 minutes on a 2 GB SD card.

That sounds really good. It sounds a lot better than my camera, and I'm sure I paid a lot more for mine.

I can't understand a word you say at the end of the video though.

The bit at the end is from the original (Only Solitaire) - the lyrics at the end go "but you're wrong, Steve. You see, it's only solitaire".

Mine came today... the batteries take for-fucking-ever to charge.

Had a lot of accessories though... HDMI, USB, and standard def RCA cable, extra battery cover, carry pouch. Only thing mine didn't have? Manual.

Oh and that sounds really good Dexter! A friend of mine has the Z4 and it always sounds fantastic, so I expected your 3 would sound awesome too.

Yeah, from what I've heard the Q3 is pretty much a more basic Z4 with video capabilities.
Cool having a pad on the mics as well for the louder sources (something that always bugged me with video cameras in general).

So I was going to make a video last night myself, but I downloaded the Kodak manual and it says to let the batteries charge for TWELVE HOURS first?

ZX1... it was the Woot deal a week ago and it was on sale for $50 so I thought I'd take a shot. My SDHC cards cost almost as much as the camera.

The big reason I bought it was for the NAMM show. I told you I'd do kick ass coverage and I'm going to deliver.

I don't know if I'll be able to post them until I get back though, and Howie will probably spoil everything by then.
