Finally, flatwounds for my Mustang

It is always hit or miss when buying strings for my Mustang bass. It is short scale but has a string through body. So some manufacturers short scale strings are too short (made for top loading bridges) and some Medium scale strings are too long. So I ordered a set of Roto Sound medium scale flatwounds 40-90. They were the perfect length and the tension is about the same as the roundwounds I had on it. So if anyone has a string through bridge on a short scale bass, the Roto Sound medium scale is the way to go.

Hmm, I wonder if those would be the right medicine for my Cyclone (longer scale length -- 24.75" just like a Gibson:wink:). I'm just not happy with how the strings I've been using ("normal" .010s) feel and sound...

Not unless your Cyclone is a bass.
