Freddie Green

Goes without saying, wish I could sit down and play that for five minutes, just to see it sounds and feels like.

oh wow. Thats pretty cool.

I had a student about 10 years ago who bought Freddie King's red 335 as an investment. It was at the time I was leaving my prior job before opening Premier and he didn't physically receive the instrument until after I had left the other studio and he turned around and flipped it before I could catch up with him to actually play it. :(

Freddie was great. I am a huge Basie fan and saw the band many times through the '70's. They were just outstanding! Funny story....Went and saw Basie with an extremely cute girlfriend at the Park West in the late '70's. At this point Basie still had some of the old greats in his band (Frank Wess, Frank Foster...etc.) and some young guns too. Band takes a break, I hit the head. When I return there were 5 or 6 band members sitting and standing around my booth hitting on my girl.....:)
