The stupid injury thread.

Well not stupid but the only time I hurt my back was 2 years ago. I got out of bed and it went on me. Never got better although it no longer is so painful that I can't do anything I want. But I only have to bend at the waist to be reminded that it's still there. Hence I've been really careful when I got back to the gym and generally stuck with machines rather than free weights. At slightly over 2/3 of a century it's all going downhill anyways. On the plus side I did manage to slam into a car door on my bike without any significant injury a couple of weeks ago

I dropped a truck battery on my foot at work one day...it hurt...

I could put this in the bike thread but since I remembered this one I'll put it here. Not really a stupid injury but bad luck. Out for a ride today and was cruising feeling good, went through a shaded area and there was a loud kind of bang and I felt something hit my leg. I thought it was a rock and was hoping I didn't have a flat so I looked down and saw blood pouring out of my shin . I stopped immediately and put pressure on the cut and looked back to see a bunch of broken glass on the road (thanks asshole who tossed a modelo bottle out of their window). After about 10 minutes it was still bleeding bad if I didn't put pressure on it so I thought about what my best options were and called 911. After that some good folks stopped and the young lady was a nurse so they helped until the ambulance came. They were able to get the bleeding stopped and I was actually able to ride back home. So now I have one white sock and one red one. I feel a bit bad for calling 911 but at the time I wasn't sure if I could get the bleeding stopped. So that's 2 911 calls in the last month for bike related issues. I'm on a roll :ack::gah:
