Agree or disagree... Guitarists who obsess over tone are nerds and...

The classic Marshall thing just dosnt work for me most of the time. I’ve given it the old college try but It usually seems overly thin, trebly, and harsh. Too direct and in your face for my tastes I guess. I’ve come to the conclusion it’s just not my style. I can get by with some verb and delay in the loop, a good boost, and more gain than I typically use, but I’m still never very happy all around with that kind of set up.
I just prefer a looser 6L6 Bassman type vibe, single channel w no master vol, 30-50w, open back cab, and 2-3 stages of light to med gain on the floor.

That's why I bought a 1 channel amp now with a simple delay put in the effects loop and I add pedals to the front as needed, no permanent pedal board any more. I spend much more time actually playing.

The best tone I've ever dialled in was on an Egnater head as I demoed it to someone in my living room who had come to buy it.

I'll probably sell my Tweaker 15 one day since I rarely play, and it could help if I need emergency funds.
