OK, so less expensive than another Les Paul
.
The Studio I bought in April is great - plays great, feels great, looks great...but the stock BB Pros just weren't doing it for me. After playing with the heights, and the settings, and the knobs, I did a quick Reverb search to see what anyone might be selling with the Gibson Quick Connects, since I don't have good soldering equipment and don't want to buy any. Lo and behold, a set of Zebra Burstbucker 61s with quick connects was available, under $200 for the pair, and into my cart they went.
They arrived this evening and went right into the guitar. I gotta say, I like the quick connect - the most time consuming part was getting them into the pickup rings. Set them to the same height as the 61s in my Standard, and away we go - they sound excellent. I like the look of the Zebras better than covered pickups as well, so it's a nice bonus.
