I teased some flamey blue/purple @mystixboi1 kinda thing… and it actually arrived last week, but the warehouse was closed, so they redelivered today.

I really like the natural back and carve….

May I present a Chapman Ghostfret!

I know not everyone is down with an explorer shape… the second guitar I ever owned was a knock off explorer that was Scorpions inspired.

I had been looking at Firebirds but didn’t want a two piece bridge and banjo tuners, used to own a Mockingbird but didn’t need another Floyd.

This is actually a little smaller than a Gibby, has stainless frets and glow markers, plus Hipshot locking tuners. :baimun:

Chapman's are all 25.5 scale, right? What's the hits and misses with this one?
I've seen a few in the wild but never had a chance to play one.

Spent a few minutes with it this morning.... Plays fucking great... need to spend some time with a dedicated guitar strap to get the length perfect...

... If I were to change anything off the top of my head it would be to change the pickup selector because the bridge humbucker, and split middle tones are my favorite (which currently takes an arm swing to pull the tap and then switch the selector).

Maybe a 5 way rotary with a chicken head would be the best selector in the future... or I think I have one of those 6 way toggle switches.

That looks like a keeper. :baimun:
I'm wondering what the pickups are.

They have a Chapman silkscreen on the face of the coils, but documentation states the neck is a Duncan Distortion and the bridge is the Duncan Alternative 8 (which is a modern Alnico5 pickup).

It looks great. I’m surprised that they can get the look so close to a Gibson and not get sued.

I made a couple minor changes to mine….

Pear tuner buttons… they’re a little lighter weight and I like the way they look. The year this one came out they were borderline neck tippy… not fall over, they just would hang level. Later ones moved the button to the back of the heel, so I did that with the flat bass retainers that I use on my non PRS guitars.

Instead of glueing the hole shut, I just stuck a recessed screw in there in case I want to put two strap buttons for options.
