Finally found an affordable Tele I can bond with. Player II in butterscotch chambered ash. Great feeling neck, well cut nut, don’t even mind the modern bridge, sounds like a Tele should. Looking forward to putting some miles on it. Jammin along to some Otis Rush the AM:)

I've always found it weird that Fender ended up incorporating a color into their palette that was originally a by-product of the interaction of smoke, UV, and other factors with a transparent blonde finish. I mean - I like the color, but it's weird how it came to be!

I'm prolly getting a new "straight" Tele soon too.

Daphne blue Vintera 50s Tele modified. Have a MIJ '69 Thinline that I modded with a SD 59 neck HB and a Barden bridge pup (decades ago), a '96 ASAT Special, and Godin Session Custom that all scratch my love of Leo's best design. I've been missing having a truly classic Tele feel and sound.

I was looking at these too, but I like 4-way and phase switching. My local has two new old stock and ima figure out which one I want in a couple of weeks (as long as they both don't get sold).

So many folks get weird about the six-vs-three saddle thing. I've found that they all sound like teles.

Part of the mod on my '69 Thinline was a six-saddle bridge. I went with an ash-tray style because I like the look, but I just wanted (and got) better/consistent intonation. There was ZERO tonal difference between the original 3-saddle bridge and the replacement. The gatekeepers of authentic-ness can eat a bag of poop.

Yeah - I don't worship at altar of Our Lady of the three brass saddles either...

I like the classic Tele look of the brass saddles. But, I don’t believe it has any sonic advantage. However, I do like your idea of building a Tele worship altar. :embarrassed:

This is the one I like as a compromise between function, intonation and classic aesthetic...
