Last night was my first 50 Years of Music celebration concert at Workshop 13, an arts center opened in an old church a block from my office. The venue is really neat:
As you can see, I had three guitars for the night; here's a close-up (there's a red spotlight shining on them):
It was nice having the variety of sounds. I have decided that the Monel strings on the Epiphone aren't giving me the sound I want; I guess it is back to Phosphor Bronze.
The show went pretty well; I had a false start on Peace Like a River, then bumped the mic with the harmonica once or twice. Roots and Branches didn't go well at all. The rest, however, was great. The sound man was fantastic and I think I have a good live CD coming. Here is a clip from Workshop 13's Facebook page.
Earlier this week I had considered giving up playing live; last night changed my mind and I am looking forward to the November show. That one will be videotaped by the local access channel.
