Sitars are GREAT

I bought a used sitar this week. It's so cool! An instrument you have to play sitting on the floor. Nobody can guve you shit about not being able to sight read because it's all improvised. The neck is massive like a 70s classical guitar. Action is sky high so you don't have to think about tweaking it. You can bend 5 steps on a standard instrument and an octave on a bass. If the intonation of one fret is a little off you just move it. If a fret needs work you just throw it away and tie on a new one. I should have started playing this instrument years ago.

I have to get mine out. Haven't played it in a while. I wish I had started earlier since it only takes about 20 years of playing 6-10 hours a day to master it.

If I had another lifetime, I'd devote it to the pedal steel. If I had another lifetime after that, probably keyboard. But then sitar.
