Question: Vol pedal for lap steel

I don't wanna spend for a steel guitar pedal like Goodrich, Hilton, or Tectronic. I won't use it that much.
But for a reg guitar ol guitar players vol pedal, say $100-$150, whatcha think ?
Important features:
1. Durability
2. Evenness of taper
3. Ease of throw(not stiff).
If you know the pot value that would be good info too. Most are 250k I think but steelers prefer 500k.

Maybe somebody might mod me an Earnie Ball or similar to spec?

I have an active Goodrich I could part with. I don't think I spent more than $150 for it. But, on a budget, I might try the newer active EB Jr.

Pedal steelers like high-ressitance passive or active because they like bright!

The throw is really long. Longer than the EB.
