Oh, and any time you can repurpose wood, it's a good thing . . . not $1,900 good, but good.
 
I bet the price is because these are hand-wired. Everybody thought those Clapton amps were overpriced until Fender said they were hand-wired and then they looked like a steal compared to a lot of boutique hand-wired Fender clones. Hopefully they won’t use those shitty Chinese capacitors this time.
 
Wonder how much a Frontman in a barnwood enclosure would go for. I've got a whole barn worth of barnwood I could "scavenge" :lol:

How good are the 'regular' Blues Jr. amps?

BJs are OK. its an el84 Fender so kind of voxy-marshally?

I have a Vaporizer which I think is very similar to a BJ
and I love that amp.

The thing is you can get an used BJ for $200 on CL all day.
the heavy relics Ive heard have shit speakers but all the others are decent.

If you get a BJ for less than $200 you're having a good day.

But to me I like the ProJr better. I always say the Projr sounds like
the BJ looks...that is it sounds like a tweed deluxe with the volume on 5-6.
nice dirt/grit/grind, but cleans up well.

depends what you need to get from these.
What do you want from a BJ?
What do you need from a ProJr?

Both can do blues, swamp, even Rockabilly (I play a lot of rockabilly and almost
got a BJ-ended up getting a tweed deluxe instead -now thats a real tweed amp with tone for daaaaays...
But I might get a BJ anyway. I only have 1 amp and a BJ is rather small,

I cant get a BJ and the wife will never know (as long as Im quiet)
