Actually in E. Its an F Melodic Minor scale played a half step higher than the root of an E7 chord to give you all of the alterations - Root, b9, #9, 3, #4, #5, m7. Bb is in the scale and can be considered the Tritone Substitution as well.Is the root in B flat?
