The finish is still too soft to mess with. The cold weather, I fear, is slowing the drying.
So I did a little soldering.
Specs for the gearheads:
Control plate: Stainless steel, polished, drilled for Gibson style 3way toggle switch.
Switch: Panasonic short frame. Came with the control plate and I think I like it better than the switchcraft. It has a more distinct snap to the engagement. I believe this is the same switch you get if you buy a Gotoh brand switch and they're used in 6000 series MIJ Gretches as well as the Epi Elitist.
Pots: 250k CTS, 10% tolerance, low friction.
Jack: Switchcraft mono.
Capacitor: Late 60s NOS Mullard "Tropical Fish" .047. I think it's the same polypropylene as the Orange Drop. It's biggest role was as the cap in the original Vox wah pedal. I think it looks cool.
I have two sets of knobs that fit.
1930s bakelite knobs taken from grandma's Trutone radio.
Or a set of chrome Hipshots with rubber o rings.
Got the bridge/pickup assembled.
