Paid Rehearsals! Yeah!

I've been playing for a long time and was recently asked to play a local gig.

It's a rock/blues gig at a local club and the pay was a whopping $75.

Well, the guy heading up the show wanted me to do 5 rehearsals to get the group tight. I politely assured him that I would be fine on the gig and would attend one rehearsal. He came back with $50 per rehearsal and $100 for the gig!

I know this is small potatoes in the grand scheme of things, but I'm just thrilled to finally treated decently for this kind of gig. It only took 40 years to get here! LOL

I've never actually been paid to attend a non-gig rehearsal.

Funny, I had one of those last night.

The money has to be right for me to do more than one rehearsal for anything. Either the gig pays really large or the rehearsals are paid for too.

I love those when they happen. Sad to say far and few inbetween at this time.

It feels really good to get paid for a change. And i find myself putting in an extra effort on this one to make it sound really good.
