I found this the other day at the local Best Western. 1938 Bugatti Type 57. I found one the sold recently in France for $3.2 million Euros.

Plated and driven, to boot!

The Avanti, I can understand, but the Bugatti? I'd never think that anyone ever drove one anymore.

Wow, that is very cool!

I used to see the occasional Avanti (they were built in South Bend weren't they?) But they are a pretty rare sighting these days.

Can't copy the photo link from my phone but a local hotel (may have been a best western) where I was djing... As I was pulling into the parking lot a Bentley with the plate "HEF" was in front of me.

I laughed it off until it pulled up to the door and Hugh Hefner was inside.

When I was in London a month ago, I saw a Bentley with a plate that said '1 JBL'

I'm still wondering if it was the owner of JBL. Are they a British company?

Yes, Avanti's were made by Studebaker, which were built in South Bend. The Studebaker museum is one of my clients.

Hef in South Bend
