This is one reason why I needed t buy an iPad for gigs....

I got an iPad and onsong and am in the process of getting it set up.
It seems to work well but I haven't used it on a gig yet. I'm the bass player and only sing backup, I shouldn't need it but:
I'm old and can't remember shit. Esp with at best a once a week practice with 20-30 originals and more coming all the time, plus about the same number of covers. I need a memory jog from time to time and I'm not gonna keep a book and music stand on stage. The pad is much less obtrusive, and beats the heck out of scribbled notes taped to my upright.

Tonight we are getting the Touchmix system running. Just downloaded the app for my iPad

Reason #3: I'm old as fuck and can't remember lyrics anymore...

:markfacepalm:
That's why I have a notebook computer and foot switch. Beats a music stand and I can even have it far enough away that it isn't obvious that I use it as a teleprompter. Some of the ipad stands I see are just as bad as the music stand.

I thought it was so you could watch porn on stage. I have an iPad primarily to watch porn.

Last night was the first time we used this onstage.it worked OK except for when I actually needed to adjust my monitors I didn't have time between or during songs to call up the Aux page...it'll take a little time to get used to things I guess.

ok...two of three gigs with the QSC Touchmix system done for the week, and gig #3 is tonight. The mixer is supposed to have a network for everyones iPad to link into for mixing. SOmetimes it works fine, sometimes not so much. I've also noticed that the physical mixer itself doesn't seem to run as hot to the powered speakers so I'm having to run those a little harder too.
