cheap Peavey basses

Are those Millenium basses any good?

I was at a local Grand Rapids music store yesterday, and they had hanging there what the tag said was a 'used' Peavey Millenium 4 BXP in tiger eye. Tag had it listed at $299, which is what the new ones go for.

I didn't plug it in, but the action was nice and low on it, I thought it played very well. No scratches on it either, it's probably one that has been hanging there for a while, so now it's considered 'used' idn_smilie

I'd still like to pick up a bass sometime, for when I'm trying stuff in Garageband. And quite frankly I haven't picked up many basses that the playability was much better than this one was.

I tried some Squiers at Firehouse music in Grandville later on, none of them played as well as the Peavey did.

Though it would be nice on my small fingers to have a short scale bass :embarrassed:

If you are just getting a bass to mess around with the Squier Mustang bass will work. I have one, it's short scale, plays well and sounds good.
