    Peter Jackson Beatles documentary

It's SO LONG though. It takes a director of no modest talent to turn GIANT APE BATTLES DINOSAURS into a spectacle that prompts the viewer to wander off and make a cup of tea, but he managed it.

Food Jam: Wendy's coffee tastes like yak piss but the honey butter chicken biscuit is mmm pretty good actually

I thought you lot spelled it "ax" but a propos nothing where exactly is your apartment, roughly speaking?

Hair metal oral history book jam: Nöthing but a good time edition

(Browne was the producer of Poison's first album, so he knows whereof he speaks.) Honestly it's a lot of fun, at least it was until we got half way through and the scene mutated to Guns and Roses, L.A. Guns and their particular friend heroin. It's kind of intriguing to watch vintage Poison...

I just bought a MIM Precision Bass for noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo reason, so...

    That's a nice looking P-bass. (I have two P-basses, and I don't feel over P-bassed at all.)

Genesis's M Rutherford rocks, by preference, the Bullets of the Fender's Squier

His tech has replaced tuners and bridge parts, but not even the pickups on some of them. (A couple got noiseless pickups in case of interference, but Rutherford is apparently adequately charmed by the sound of the stock ones.)

    None more boring for Hallowein

I really like the SG. The Tribute series removes a gratifying amount of superfluous blingy nonsense. They should really have gone with Flamencological none-more-black fretboard inlays (i.e., none, which is plenty), but even so, I would be glad to rock this machine, and by Gibson standards they...

I've got a mania to the point of pitching a fever to find a MIM Strat for like $300 - $400 on Craigs

I'll give you $200 for it and then flip it to Smurfco, that's a PRETTY GOOD price these days.

I've got a mania to the point of pitching a fever to find a MIM Strat for like $300 - $400 on Craigs

In the Olden Times (maybe on Harmony Central?) everyone used to claim you could pick them up for $350 "all day long", although you plainly couldn't. And while I appreciate knowing you can't pick them up for $300 anymore, I yearn to be reassured that this is still a 24/7 condition. (I had an...

    Not to brag or anything...

That's some good intonating right there! One time we went to an actual recording studio and the engineer/producer refused to let our guitarist play a three-saddle telecaster just on principle. (He had other uh quirky opinions too, though, I mean really.)

Well here it is folks... grab your headphones and listen to my freaky cover of Hey Bulldog!

That's easily one of the best freaky covers of Hey Bulldog I've listened to on headphones in a long, long time; good work!

Albums of which the sales numbers surprise you

(But this is all a bit "Ferret tossing is the fastest growing spectator sport" compare to the glory days, obviously )

What are your favourite foreign-language films?

We watched Harry Potter Part 1 in Cherman once, it worked pretty well, but for me, Clive, Tampopo has to be there or thereabouts

Daily versus thread pt 2: J bass vs P bass

Just sold my only J. I don't like the way they fall over when you try to lean them against an amp and I don't like having to roll off two(2) knobs for quiet and I didn't really cherish the pencil neck feel and I don't need to cover bases on bass that a P bass doesn't cover.

    I did a thing

For 199€ new it's astonishingly good, although having a real Filtertron does make it better. I want one of their medium-fancy five string basses, but I still have too many planks and it's hard to shift them in Plague Times.

    I did a thing

I'm still playing Knox in Box's cabronita copy, and I still like it a lot. Of course, a telecaster is perhaps the simplest thing you can call an electric guitar, and a Rickenbacker isn't, but the moderately priced Harley Bentons seem to be typically pretty OK things.
