    Dig it! NAD

True dat. Haven't weighed it, but spec is 68.5 lbs, a few less than my AC30. Crazy that neither one is at least drilled to accept casters and equipped with sockets for same. Same for my 18/30 Bassbreaker 2x12. Happily my Ampeg Reverberocket R212R is. I dunno what these 2x12 manufacturers...

Although they were called that all the way back to the Skynnrd days; that appellation is nothing new. But the doom people focus on the overpowered old Peavey tube heads like the Mace, not modern Peavey amps like this'un. The other obvious doom fave is Sunn. I have one of those too.

    RIP Scott Mung

Shit, I missed when this thread originally came down. This is the sucky part of getting older, losing people before they should go, and while you're still here. Rest in peace Peeker.

Gig Report: Wait, Krash had an actual gig?

Thanks! The benefit was for a lefty community center/meeting space/reading room that Crash Pad have supported since our founding in '96, so there was no danger of offending anyone with political lyrics (not that such is a consideration for a punk rock band). True story-- as originally written...

Gig Report: Wait, Krash had an actual gig?

Yup. Last Sunday. We finally had our first gig this year. I hadn't actually even seen the lads, much less had a chance to practice with them, in well over a month. This was a benefit that came out of the blue, after I returned from a 17-day vacay (which had followed a few days after 10 days...

What other HR/metal bands besides BOC and Judas Priest

You rang? There's a whole sub-subgenre called horror punk. Fr'instance, my band played a bill with these guys back in 2004:

Unlike seemingly everyone else in the guitar universe, I'm not a modder, amps or guitars. Although I've added pickguards to guitars that needed them (SG, Special Doublecut) and very occasionally done other very superficial purely aesthetic touches (headstock decals, zebratizing open coils with...

    Dig it! NAD

Well, technically yesterday was. Peavey Valve King, VK212. VG condition, w/footswitch. 100w, all tube. Two channels, reverb. Also has a back panel potentionmeter for choosing between class A and class A/B (or somewhere in between, apparently), whatever that means. $75 USD. How'd I do...

    NGD

Haha, that's the name of the store-- Funky Music!

    NGD

This could be a difficult post. I'm at least a bit torn about it, tbh. An old scene buddy of mine (along with another couple people) just opened a small music store. Totally independent, probably most of the guitars and amps were sitting in his garage or warehouse or whatever. [And yes, I'm...

    NGD - Magical edition!

NOM. In general I'm not a PRS person. Don't like birdies, etc. But that is sweet.

    Help! NGD X2

Congrats! I've never had dual NGD. One time two Squier Strats came up used locally within a week of each other, and I did buy them both. But not with the intention of keeping both. Instead, I held onto them for a couple weeks of "shootout," kept the one I liked more, and then resold the...
