Butchered goat heads have been left outside three homes in Hyde Park, and police are puzzled.
Two turned up on front porches and a third was found elsewhere on property this week, at homes roughly within a one-mile area in the neighborhood. Police say butcher paper also was left at one of the homes.
Cincinnati Police Detective Charles Zopfi says investigators have found nothing to indicate the motive or meaning behind the goat heads.
He points out that goat meat is popular in some cultures and that some stores in the Cincinnati area sell goat heads. WKRC-TV reports they can cost $25.
Zopfi says if the heads were left by pranksters, they succeeded in making the families uncomfortable.
Earlier this year they found a goat's head in a microwave at IKEA too.
