Jbird

Kick Henry Jackassowski
This looks pretty good for $699. Made here in Michigan, too! Never heard of Santo guitars before, I wonder if they are any good?

Couldn't find a pic of it on google :embarrassed:

And yeah, the neck pickup is crooked

I'd rather have the traditional pickup configuration, but it does look nice.
Worth giving it a spin if you can find one in the wild.

Whoever designed that control layout should be institutionalized.
Weren't you the one that wanted a Tele with 4 knobs?

I just now clicked on the link to their amps, and if you click on the picture of the back of the amp and can read the small print, it says "Made In China" on the back of the amp.

I wonder if the guitars are made in China too? It says made in Michigan on that website. Maybe I'm Chinese now and don't know it yet?

See the difference in the layout?

Yeah, the four knobs on the Santo are all jumbled. I don't mind were the pickup selector is located though, but ymmv.

It does have an extra fret though :)

I’m guessing made in China, setup in Michigan.

lo'fuckin'l

Santo Guitar USA was founded in 2010, in the basement of Chris Nunez home when he first started building electric guitars from kits.
By 2012, Chris was building and selling about 20 guitars a year to friends and to other musicians on Facebook and E-Bay.

In 2013, both Fender and Gibson tried to stop Chris from entering the market, but by 2014, Chris was successful in obtaining the "ToneCaster" trademark and launched Santo Guitar USA.

I don't care for the wood or pickup config. Too many other good Teles out there to choose from.

Could be assembled in the US from Chinese made parts. At that price, I'd think Chinese made and finished. Nothing wrong with that based on the price if it's up to snuff and he's up front about it.

the other day i was like, why aren't there more guitar builders in michigan.

now i know why.

We've had a pretty good track record here in Michigan when it comes to guitar companies with Gibson, Heritage, and Reverend. But I think Heritage is the only one still building guitars here. There's also Sparxx guitars (but I think that guy is only on facebook, still like the looks of some his guitars).
