All the geek gear fits nicely in my photo backpack/carry-on. Including the binoculars, which is nice - on previous trips the bins had to go in the checked bag, which is risky to say the least.

Will you quit your damn bitching and worrying? Enjoy the experience of seeing an eclipse in the USA, rather than having to travel to some third world hellhole.
 
We're heading up to SE Tennessee for a few days for the eclipse, a cabin in the woods, and a little kayaking.
I don't trust those Cracker Jack prize glasses. I'm bring some cardboard for a pinhole setup.
