Since its been a topic of conversation (Pyschotronic owns one and Baimun was discussing it earlier) I figured I would do the Bogner Shiva as "Amp of the Day" today :)

I can't find a video of this particular model so here are a few variations:

YouTube- Bogner Shiva and Gibson Les Paul - 2

YouTube- Bogner Shiva and Gibson Les Paul - 1

This guy makes what seems like a great amp in the other two videos sound like poo.

YouTube- AC-DC Hells Bells using bogner shiva

Bogner Guitar Amps - Shiva 6L6 NR 1x12 Combo

This Bogner Shiva Amp (http://www.massstreetmusic.com/store/show_item/1931) features two highly evolved channels, capable of clean tones that shimmer like icicles in the deep of winter moonlight and tube saturation that is so rich and powerful it should be illegal in the free world. Foot-switchable boost function for both channels, variable for channel 2.6L6 models are 60 watts and have a touch more lowend/highend extension that's more American-style. The Shiva also has a Tube-buffered series FX-Loop. 1x12 Combo features a newly designed and revolutionary ported speaker enclosure that sounds very full, almost like a 4x12 cabinet. There is more than enough bass response to rearrange your living room furniture, if needed. The Bogner Shiva Amp is a masterful study of refined elegance, providing the synergy of one's heart and hands.

i've played some Shivas at band practice, and they always leave me cold. good clean, but the distortion just doesn't do it for me.

I've only played one for a couple of minutes at a guys house when I was buying a bass amp from him, so I can't really say that I know what they sound like. I generally don't hear anyone say anything bad about them...

I had the opportunity to A/B/C it with a Hughes and Kettner Triamp as well as a Mesa Recto.

The Bogner is not lacking in balls of any kind... the best thing about it for experienced guitarists is what makes it scary for noob guitarists... it's got clarity at ANY gain level. It's kind of like riding a big horsepower Harley... it's pretty amazing, but if you get sloppy and lose control, it's not going to baby you in any way.

Listen to the Hells Bells clip and you'll really notice how you can hear every string ringing even while he's picking on the other strings, and even when on the neck pickup of the Les Paul there's no mud.

I like a tone with lots of clarity these days...thats one reason why I've been using my BB Preamp so much....you can tell from this: Amp and pedalboard test for broadcast, I tried cranking an amp and running through everything on my pedalboard premiermusic on USTREAM. How-to

I might give the Bogner a closer look next time I see one...
