I was messing around with a few pedal and guitar combinations for my gig tomorrow and I figured I'd throw a mic or two up to compare pedals. Please ignore the playing but I have the song 3 times..the first is the StoneBender Fuzz, the second is the BB Preamp and the third is the Direct Drive...all pedals are going through the RC booster and Carbon Copy into my Bassman....I have a Beta 57 on the speaker and a Sennheiser e609 about 5 feet away to get a little bit of the room and the mics are split with one panned hard left and the other panned hard right. By this point I was rushing to get things done so I'm only playing the Suhr for this.

I'm new to the recording part so please be nice :o

I thought it needed a bit more fuzz to it and maybe being a little creative, put a dab of reverb into it ( my thinking is that it would give it a more fullness to your sound)

for some reason the Carbon Copy isn't making it into the recording....it's actually pretty audible in the room. Everything sounded "gainier" in the room, too. I think my mic placement might be some of that problem.

The fuzz should be the best choice for this but I'm not sure I can crank the amp enough to get the sound I want tomorrow.

I don't have reverb for that amp and the Carbon Copy pretty much takes care of that. Plus I'll be playing in a hotel ballroom :o

mark, this is just being a little creative, but if you put a wah to it and leave it to where you are happy with the tone, that might help out on giving it a more full fuzz tone too idn_smilie
