Guitarville Description: Up for sale, a 1992 Stephens EC (Extended Cutaway) electric guitar in excellent condition and in perfect working order. The EC is a unique design which allows a guitar neck to be attached to the instrument body in a way that substantially reduces the interference of the heel. This guitar features a maple neck and fretboard with a slim C contour and a fairly flat fretboard radius. The original jumbo frets show light wear, but have years of life left. The headstock sports Gotoh tuning machines that work smoothly and stay in tune well. The body features a trio of humbuckers, one full size in the bridge position, and two single coil size rail humbuckers in the middle and neck positions. The electronics consist of a master volume, master tone, 5-way pickup switch, and 3 way coil tap. The six-point trem works smoothly and jumps back into tune well. Cosmetically, the neck has practically no wear, the headstock has a few minor nicks and the body shows moderate wear on the back. The original hardshell case is included.

I've heard of the Stevens extended cutaway (I think another manufacturer must have licensed it) but I had no idea they made their own guitars. I dig how you are finding some different and historically interesting stuff for the GPOTD!

Aesthetically the guitar isn't too exciting for me although the neck joint is pretty interesting. I'm not too into having hot rail-type pickups in the neck and middle (I've had them before and I hate how they sound split) and the rest is just everyday "Superstrat" to me...

I'm not particularly enthralled by this one either. But given who these guitars were marketed to, the pups make sense.

Washburn is the company you're thinking of. They put the Stevens cutaway on the Nuno sigs and some others.
