Fender USA Telecaster Elite
1983 model, Sunburst Finish.
Features
2 white-plastic-covered mini-humbuckers
Active Electronics
top-load Elite bridge
Here is one of the coolest and most unique Telecasters to come out of the 80's. The Tele Elite was only made for a few short years, this model is becoming very hard to find and is highly collectable. The active mini humbuckers in this guitar have an extremely unique tone, unlike anything else. They have a hot output and a round full tone with a defined top end bite. This one also plays great, low action, comfortable fast neck. Really nice condition with just a few typical small dings. Overall a great looking vintage guitar. Includes a non original hard shell case.

I've never seen a Tele Elite before. I remember the Strats because they were out when I first started playing guitar and I think Ty Tabor from Kings X played them...and he had a killer sound.

That thing is f-ing uglier than shit but I wonder how it sounds....

Those white plastic covers on the mini-hums just ruin the guitar. Slap a couple of chrome covers on that and it improves greatly.

And yep, Tabor was using a Start Elite and a LABSeries amp for the first couple of releases. Amazing tone back then....

Unless the matching is perfect they should never burst finish or clear finish a multi-piece body

You should see some of the shitty wood joins I used to see when I worked for the Fender dealer on the Mexican made guitars messedup0

MIM's have changed by leaps and bounds since then. you should check out my 50s Classic Tele.

I would hope so. Hopefully the days of a 7 piece poplar body with a photoflame laminate top are long gone...I really haven't been paying attention, though...

Shit guitars no matter what you called them.

I sold Fender retail from the mid 90's to about 2004 and there was never a guitar that came in as inventory that I would own. If you think about it I had the opportunity to buy any Fender guitar I wanted for dead cost for about 8 years and you don't see a single one in my guitar collection. My Guild DV52 was a lucky find during that period (1998) and I bought a few cheapies (like my Bass) here and there but nothing substantial.

my tele is an '06 that's had just about every mod possible put onto it. but it wouldn't be half the guitar it is if the wood was shit. sometimes you just get one that's got "it" [/martin short]
