One of the guys in my Wednesday night Rock Ensemble class brought his new Pedaltrain 2 pedalboard and pedals in for me to help him get set up and after we got the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 power supply installed (I can't believe people let me at their gear with a drill :o) we checked out the pedals.
He has a Direct Drive that I suggested he get a few months ago but last week he ordered a Keeley-modded Blues Driver( http://www.robertkeeley.com/product.php?id=14) and a friend lent him a Time Machine Boost( http://www.timemachineboost.com/) which is a collaboration between Robert Keeley and David Szbados. It is both on the Keeley website and the one I linked above.
The thing I noticed about the Blues Driver is that it is less shrill than the stock Boss version I had a few years ago and the "Phat" switch is a nice addition. It still has a ton of brightness to it so I had the tone at about 25% to get a sound that I liked. Great pedal, but not anything I need with my current selection of gear.
The Time Machine Boost took me a second to figure out. It has a "vintage" and a "Modern" side, and the vintage side has a switch marked "1966" and "1973". I guess it's basically a treble booster thats been voiced for each era but the "Modern" side worked realy nicely with my Deluxe Reverb. If they made just the Modern side I'd really consider getting one. I'd probably ditch my RC booster for it as a matter of fact.
I'm just not spending $289 on a pedal I would use 1/3 of.....
the one I tried is apparently an older model and it looks like this:

For $175 I'd actually consider it. :D
If you notice this version does not have a "warp" control on it, so I have no idea what that sounds like.....
