mah oatmeal esplodeded

i don't make instant oatmeal, i make the regular oatmeal. it takes 3 minutes in the microwave instead of 1, and doesn't have the extra preservatives.

i haven't made it in at least six months, but i decided i didn't want cold cereal this morning, so i followed the directions on the canister. 1/2 cup of oats + 1 cup of water + 3 minutes microwave. i opened the microwave when it was all done and the oatmeal was everywhere. yeah it was in the bowl, but also on the tray, the sides, the top. now i'm gonna have to clean the damn thing.

good oatmeal though.

When I was about 12 we tried microwaving a raw egg :facepalm:

Oatmeal in the microwave does that. It boils over.


I have to stand there and watch it, when it comes alive and nears the edge turn the micro off and let it calm down before resuming.
