I'm writing a song while matching it up to another song's sway. Seems to make the lyrics flow. . .
Any of you do the same thing, and where do you propose this fits on the scale of songwriter plagiarism? :idk:

Actually I do that all the time. Even when I'm soloing. YOu can only really copyright a melody and not a chord progression or rhythm...if you use the cadence of a song for inspiration and we can't tell what the "stolen" song is I don't think it matters...

Yeah, I'm actually humming the tune and putting my words to the song :facepalm:
I'll come up with my own music later, when I can play with a guitar :o

It depends. Are you working from We Will Rock You? That might be noticeable. Otherwise, you're just doing it the same way we all do. :)
