people get really pissed off at Gibson

i'd go as far as to say that there's just about nothing they can do that doesn't piss somebody off.

the price is too high
the neck tenon is too short
the body is swiss cheese
the chambering sucks
the dishing of the top is wrong
the spacing of the stoptail isn't authentic to 1954 specs.
the pups don't sound like real PAF's
the setup sucks
the pup combination isn't good
guitars don't need computers
its just plain fugly

we won't even get into QC issues, that's not what i'm talking about here. i'm saying that if they make traditional guitars, they get shit on for not innovating, but not making them exactly authentic to the original. and when they innovate like with the Robot and now the Dark Fire, they get shit on for making things too complicated.

so what is it exactly that you people want?

Up until recently I wasn't happy with how the guitars sounded....the last few new LP's that I have played have sounded nice (EDIT: but they've all been Historics) but cost WAY too much.  I haven't seen any of the QC problems that my 2004 Standard had in the new ones either.

I guess the guitars just aren't "special" enough for me to warrant a $2600 street price for a LP Standard....

there's two guitars they make right now that i'm interested in. the ES-330 and the Dark Fire. but until i actually find one to check out, i'm not saying anything.

I like the idea of the 330. I don't know anything about the Dark Fire and Colins' SG makes me want one of those now :weebz:

the dark fire is the next gen of the Robot. plus it has a hex pickup and bluetooth for running directly into guitar rig 3.

yeah, so you can connect to a computer directly. if you're recording direct or using a computer as part of your rig, that's gotta be awesome.
