i like the idea, but not the execution.

everything with guitar equipment seems to be scooped. pickups, amps, distortion pedals, all want to create this scooped tone. unfortunately, the midrange is where the guitar's frequencies live. so a little scoop is cool. but if you scoop the hell out of everything then you're just going to get lost in the wash. the cymbals will eat up your highs, and the bass will eat up the lows. the whole point of the tubescreamer with the midrange hump is to make you stand out in the mix. it fails because its too mid humpy with most equipment, especially humbuckers. but the idea is that its going to counteract all this scooping.

also, i don't want my tele to sound like a strat or lp. i want it to sound like a tele.

obviously, i'm not the target audience for this pedal. :o
